First off, I do not consider myself a handgun expert. Aside from casual plinking 20+ years ago, I never really shot a handgun to see my raw accuracy. It was not until May of this year that I purchased my very first handgun, a P90, to shoot with as well as for home defense and a future carry weapon. So, at this time, I merely do NOT have the expertise that others here possess. However, we ALL have to walk before we can run. But one of my groups today from my SRH really had me happy. These three full cylinder groups were all shot at 10 yards, single action, totally freehand. I used NO supports, was not resting on the bench at the range, etc. If I am happy with this, I know I will only get better with time and practice.
Now that was my 3rd full group. I had 20 rounds left in the box from my first outing with the SRH on the 14th of this month. So I fired 3 cylinders single action. The remaining two cartridges in the box were double action pulls. To be blunt, I suck at double action for now. I have a tendency to pull the barrel downwards. One shot was so severe I went just under the target. But at least one was a near-bullseye. As I start to reload next year, I can work on my double action accuracy. And it WILL improve. But here is my target from all 20 rounds.
The upper left and upper right were my first and second cylinder's worth respectively. The center was my third full cylinder and obviously my best. All those three were single action. The lower left was from my 2 rounds double action. I actually went just under the target on my first of two. But as I said, I will get better with time.
