Yesterday morning, just before breakfast as I came in from the barn, my wife stopped me.

"According to the latest news from the Food and Drug Administration food guidelines, you have a choice to make". "What are you talking about", was my response.

My wife informed me that with the new guidelines put out by the government last week, that she heard on the radio, we have to choose a choice of not eating any real food or follow the guidelines and starve.

Fortunately we sat down to ham, eggs, grits, homemade sourdough toast, fresh peach slices, coffee and juice to drink. I guess she made the decision for me.

Yep. Just found out that bacon isn't good for me. I went into a funk when I realized that, because of my consumption of numerous amounts of the stuff, I had probably shot my chance of my lifelong goal of living to 100 and being shot my a jealous husband.

I have given the FDA another name for their initials....F,...D Arses. These are the same pinheads that told you butter, eggs, and whole milk wasn't good for you. THEIR substitutions turned out to be far worse. The FDA DOES allow all sales and distribution of all these new pharmaceuticals that will cure one thing,... but the side affects kill you a couple of ways. The FDA prostituted itself to the Drug companies decades ago.

Isn't trying to extend your natural lifespan a little like Original Sin? ;)
I'd hate to get to the pearly gates and have St. Peter tell me I was "supposed to be here years ago, and now your seat is taken..." Who can say otherwise?

Eat whats on your plate because you weren't born in Iraq, for a REASON!

Vito, you reminded me of a couple of things that I was told when little, that were true.

I was born and started life on a farm in the Indian Nation in Oklahoma. Our family and neighbors did not have very clean water to drink so it was common that any water that we drank was boiled. Naturally boiling water is the start of making coffee. So I, and everyone drank coffee rather than plain boiled water.

From my earliest memory, probably about age 3 or 4, I remember the older folks telling me that "Kid drinking all that coffee will stunt your growth". They were right. If I had not drank coffee all of my life I probably would be 8 feet tall today and an NBA Star. I never played Basketball but I still drink coffee at every meal.

I also remember being told how to become the worlds strongest man. I remember being told that when one of our cows calved, I should pick up the baby calf every day as it grew to a full grown cow or bull. I was able to pick up a baby calf when I was about 5 or 6 years of age and I still pick up baby calves when I need to. But somehow, along the line, I neglected to pick up the calf one day and so I never got to pick up a full grown cow. I am sure that had I paid attention and pickup up that calf every day without fail as long as it lived, today I could pick up a 2,000 pound bull.
