Restoring a Marlin 22 lever

I’ve inherited similar guns. It is somewhat rewarding to bring them back, but they usually have underlying mechanical issues before they were neglected. I bet the used butt plate he sourced came off a gun in better condition than the one he was fixing, and it was stripped for parts.

Love old Marlin lever action .22’s none of mine are that old.

They are some beauties you got there 👌

Kinzler's put out good video's.. we'd get in old guns that were like that.... most of the time they were barn guns that farmers used to shoot pigeons, etc..
I could never fathom how a farmer that would keep all hos machinery in good operating condition would neglect his firearms...
We even got in a winchester model 52 once that was basically one piece.... so sad....
