77V 280/7MM EXPRESS

I saw one of these today at a pawnshop, thought it was going
to be a 25-06 or a Swift, but was very surpised the employee told
me 280. How rare are these? Price range?

Fairly scarce, especially if marked with both calibers. Most were marked as .280Rem.

In 98+% condition it's collectible, especially if it had the box and papers. $650 plus or minus.

If it is in shooter condition the value falls off rapidly. $400-$500 range.

Would make a wonderful tree-stand/bean-field rifle.

It was stamped with both calibers, it was also drilled and tapped for
a rear sight, but not a front sight. Price was 599, clerk told me that it
had just came out today. I was thinking 400-450, also had a large
scope on it, but nothing high dollar.

Are you sure it didn't have another set of scope block holes drilled. They certainly never left the factory with sights, front or rear.

Roy Boy, the youngest brother has had one for years.

I was thinking scope blocks also, as the barrel didnt appear to
be shortened.
