77 hawkeye SS 6.5 X55

Found a new Ruger 77 Hawkeye stainless steel black stock Cal. 6.5x55 for sale last night on GB couldn't stop myself bought it. When did they start making these? there not on there web page.
 
To my knowledge, the Hawkeye has never been listed in 6.5x55. Sure it's not a Mark II? It'll be built on the long action, which would allow to seat bullets out as far one needed or wanted to. I guess the guys at Ruger had too many 6.5X55 reamers lying around and needed something to do. It ought to be a fine rifle. Please post the product code( 4 or 5 digit #) when you get it. Bob!! :?
 
There are only minor differences between the Hawkeye and MKII anyway, mainly the steel floorplate.

I'm not certain but the stainless 6.5x55 should have been a Lipsey's special edition. I have a 6.5x55 No. 1A that is a great gun. You won't be disappointed by the 6.5x55. Enjoy!
 
Mattsbox is right about Lipsey's offering a M77 in 6.5x55. The one I remember was SS/walnut. Mattsbox, I love the train!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bob! :)
 
Only thing I can think of is somebody changed out the stock, which wouldn't be that hard.

I know this is an older post, but anyway...

I also found a 6.5x55 M77 Hawkeye all-weather on Gunbroker and also did not stop myself from buying it. Since I didn't see that model on Ruger's website, I emailed them and they told me that it was a distributer special. I wondered if it was a Lipsey's exclusive, but I didn't buy it from them so I don't know.
