77/44 Scope ring size question

Does anyone know if/why a model 3k (low) scope ring will fit the 77/44? Shop-Ruger doesn't show it as an option and the girl on the phone didn't know. I'm looking to drop the scope down some. My ocular is normal, didn't know if it was a bolt handle issue or what?

It's been a few years since I monkeyed with the 77/44. If I remember , the low rings created a clearance problem with the bolt handle and I switched back to the medium height rings.

This was with the scope shown. A weaver 4x which is a normal sized if not smaller ocular end.

I have the weaver 2.5x mounted in mediums. Say the bolt handle was problematic?

According to this,you need a 4b or a 4K for a 42mm obj and a 5 for a 52mm obj

I think the chart doesn't account for those of us who like a low powered fixed 20mm. I have plenty of bolt handle space with the 4k rings, I'm going to try 3k if I can find some.

Anything above a 4x 33mm doesn't make a lick of sense on this rifle.

I got hold of some 3 rings. It works good with only one scope and that was the weaver 2.5x which they don't make anymore. I tried it with five other makes from Nikon to Leupold. The rest were either hitting or scraping the bolt handle on the ocular.
