I think this is most of the tapered barrel Target Models.

T-678
MK678, KMK678
MKIII678

I plan to add a T-678 with the A-54 frame and Micro sights at some point.

Am I missing any?

Uhh, the Red Eagle T678 is missing; (serial number range 15001 to 16999 and 25002 to 25478.)
That is,, unless you've switched the grip panels on yours. But they did make an earlier T-678 with black eagle grips as well,, so maybe you are missing (2) of the earliest ones?

Too deep for me Ty. I was thinking maybe different model numbers (MKIIs?). As mentioned above, the frame change seems to me to be significant enough that I would want an A-54 too. The A-54s are affordable just a lower priority than some other things that interest me right now. I probably won't earmark the necessary funds for any costly variations unless one just drops on me at a reasonable price as they sometimes do. Always try to keep my eyes open.

Thanks for your insight!

Aww heck,, we collectors all know how a "rabbit hole" can grow when it comes to chasing different guns. :D

And as we all know,, variations can drive a collector nuts! (Just ask Miss Penny,, she'll tell you I'm nuts!)

rugerguy,

They need to change your badge from Supporting Member to Enabling Member. I still have a Lipsey's MKII I "need" to get before I can go fooling around with any more MKIs. But there will come a day....................

back then Mr J. Munnel, now he was the enabler,,,,ha ha
MY wife said one of the top right was US marked as well as the T514 with the muzzlebreak on the left was a "U.S." gun too....been some years and all went to other collectors over the years, she ONLY kept her "Red Eagles" RST-4's, all 9 or was it 10 variations and the T678 Red Eagle boxed gun, the other went down the road.;)

and in the mid 70s when they moved from Hamden to East Hartfort, I spent time up there and was trained by Mr Bob Shea, as our shop was "warranty repair" for High Standard when they moved, our shop was Cleveland Bluing Co,.............;)

Aww heck Chad,, his rabbit hole is just starting.. Boxes & papers come later,,,! :D

But yes,, a boxed Red Eagle like the one Dan shows,, NICE!!!!

I've always felt that the 678's were one of the best looking pistols ever, especially the stainless MKII. The long tapered barrel and the high front sight, just classic. Right up there with the High Standard "space" guns.

Seems to me the T-678s with a U.S. stamp are missing from this discussion. Six different shipments depending on serial number. Also these military arms come in both small serial numbers as well as large. The serial numbers of all the T-678s all guns from 15000 to 15999 are to be considered as single, two, or three digit guns. This is because they started at 15000. One of those is missing from my collection. My earliest T-678 is 1635X. All of those guns would be red eagles. I beleive the above is correct but consulted memories not books.

I have a few 678s two red eagles one is serial number 15074 the other is in the 15000 range also a couple of U.S. marked. U.S. are consecutive serial numbers one is nice looking pistol the other has been reblue but they are consecutive

Consecutive U.S. marked guns, that is one I have never heard of before! Did you find them together? When released to MCA just never thought about consecutive #s but released in blocks so..... In these releases to MCA most all were reblued weren’t they? I do not consider my reblued U.S. guns to have deep discounted value. Are your consecutive US guns in 76xxx or 77xxx or 305xxx? Just wondering as that is where mine are.

They are 76000-77000 range found them separate long story on getting second one had to buy another one to trade for the consecutive number.
