Just picked up a 1988 vinatge 5.5" RH and I'm in need of a quality belt holster for said 44. I've googled it and came up with little, any of you folks have any suggestions? Leather if possible, maybe a crossdraw and affordable :P

Most any N-Frame holster will work.

I use an old Safety Speed 44LH.

I tried my 6" N frame holster thinking it would work but it doesn't. Any of you guys using the Galco D.A.O.?

Contact ebay member id catfish79. He has made six holsters for me. He does outstanding work and he does not have the waiting list that most holster makers have.

eBay member usamike99 has sold several holsters to me and I've always had excellent results.

For a brand new holster there's several good makers who are members here. Some have a "Sticky" in the Auction Links & Recurring Items section.

Ooooh good thought, I never gave Ruger a thought while looking. Thanks! I have a $50-75 limit due to finances so that one really fits the bill.

I've got a Bianchi #111 "Cyclone" that my 5-1/2" Redhawk fits in perfectly. It's labeled to fit Ruger Redhawk and DW .44.

It's been sitting in my safe for a while as my RH is mostly a range gun. It's in great shape and I'd be willing to sell it for $70.00 shipped if you're interested.

IMO Simply Rugged is just about the best out there especially for the price. A well built good looking rig can be had for as little as $60.00-70.00 plus shipping. I've got two and I wouldn't trade them for the world.

Yes I use the Galco DAO and in my opinion it is the best holster I have tried for the "Big Red". I have had several others and this one works best. It is the only holster I have tried that allows me to carry the Redhawk on a pants belt and still be comfortable.

Here's something right here in our own Classified Section. This member seems to always advertise holsters in the under $50 price range. If you ain't a lefty maybe he's got something else.

Give this fellow a try. He's a one man shop out of MT and builds and designs each one himself. [email protected]. He'll email you a small catalog with some of his designs. He's very easy to do business with and it won't cost you an arm and leg.
