Alaskans have been shipping for a while. There were a couple on the classifieds recently. If you are asking about the Bisley, I can't help you but I hope soon.

Bottom one is a BFR in .475 Linebaugh, the new SBH Bisley has not come in yet.

I'm jealous. Looks like you've about got it covered. I to have a SBH Bisley on order and will probably end up replacing grip frame with a Hunter. I have thick fingers and the trigger guard on a .44 mag Bisley wears on my knuckle. How do the wood grips on the BFR work out for you?

Wood stocks on the BFR came with it, made by the guy I bought it off of. He has smaller hands than I and these are too thin for me. I have the factory rubber grip also but have not tried it and am not sure I'll care for it, got a Hogue on a .41 Mag Blackhawk once and changed it out as quick as I could. Planning to try making a set for the BFR out of some walnut I have around.
Before you give up on the Bisley grip you might try a set of "Bearpaw Grips" that another member here makes. He goes by gooseman179. I have switched all my .41's to them. Makes huge difference for me.

I'm still sad that I never was able to get one of those Win 92's in .480. Jeff reviewed one and loved it. But apparently they didn't make many and they are very, very hard to find now. And expensive. Seems like a great little deer gun. Like a small 45/70.
They also made them in .454 but I'm a .480 kind of guy.

I really do not mean to throw gas on the fire but here is result of First range trip with the 9.5" SRH on Monday. No tuning on the gun yet, just clean and head to the range. Really no tuning to the load either. Had a 16" barrel AR going off next to me so was hard to concentrate, made me jump a couple times....
I am finding this to be typical .480 performance, if I can do my part it will just shoot a ragged hole, does not seem to be even very fussy about what you feed it.

That's good shooting Kevin. My Alaskan showed up yesterday, everything looked good except for a broken rear sight blade. Called Ruger and 2 are on the way free. Couldn't wait a week to try it out so I robbed the blade off my 5.5 inch sbh. 400 RCBS and 16/2400 went 4in vertical X 2in horiz at 25 yds. It's a hoot, the hogue grips do a good job. I'm expecting the 480 bisley to be a real handful when it shows up. Arriving with a broken sight blade isn't that unusual I bet. Saw a pic of an Alaskan on gun broker with same prob. Too much room to move around in the plastic box.
