Not long ago there was a fairly good selection of Ruger Alaskan revolvers in .480 on gun broker, but for the last several months they have dried up, none, zilch. I'm guessing that this stemmed in part to the recent run that Starline made of .480 brass making owning a .480 more practical for the reloader.

When they were available I thought I'd wait to get one but now I'm sorry I procrastinated and even Ruger has them listed as unavailable. Note to self... don't hesitate the next time!

You and me both. Kept putting off picking up the Alaskan .480 Ruger. I could have even had a decent used one for $690 last fall. I kick myself in the butt for not getting it. Even the .454 Casull version has jumped up in price this last summer. Although I see a few new ones popping up here and there.

Last year it was a NIB Alaskan 44 mag that brought a premium, and now the market is flooded with them and can be found for a decent price if you shop around.

I'd kick myself too but I'm not that flexible anymore...

Originally started out with the 454/45 and then acquired the 480R. Prefer the 480R.
Most of the time, just shoot 45 Colt in the 454/45,,, the 454C is snappy, while the 480R is just a good push.

G2, it's good to see you hid your serial numbers. Many years ago someone I knew advertised a gun for sale and a guy who saw it reported it STOLEN! Luckily the seller had receipts and the guy who reported it did not and was arrested for falsely reporting a stolen firearm.
