Well it looks like Ruger has finally once again made the SRH Alaskan 480 Ruger available. I am also staring to see small quantities of Hornady .480 ammo on websites. Hopefully this resurgence of the .480 Ruger will pick up some steam and stick around this time. In my opinion it's really a nice round, definitely more enjoyable to shoot at the range than .454 Casull anyhow. ;)

Always wanted one of the 7.5" or 9.5" dark gray SRH in .480

Would put a 2x scope on it and go put the hurtin on some deer

I prefer the .480 Ruger (bottom) over the 454C. I mostly only shoot hot 45 Colt in the 454C.

Same thing here,,, in fact the 480R (top) has turned into one of my favorites.

I have a Super Redhawk in .480 and it's a behemoth and handles the .480 well :)

That said the similarity between it and the Alaskan is mainly the barrel mount and it puzzles me that the called it a Super Redhawk as it has more in common with the GP :)

Well it's their product they can call it a Buick if they want, that doesn't make it a Buick.
