My point is that once a handloader deviated from SAAMI specs, it is no longer what it says on the head stamp, ergo, it is whatever the person who loaded it, wants to call it....right?

If I run a 30/06 case through a 25/06 die and load it to 25/06 specs, it is a 25/06, is it not? And I was handloading the 25/06 before it was commercialized by Remington. In those days, we called it the .25 Neidner.

In other words, all this BS about there being only one "correct" name for a cartridge, is simply that....BS. 8)

Since these loads are commonly called "Ruger Only" I think you could call it 45 Ruger.
