Ok,now that my shorter 1.240 COL works fine with the Better Bullets hardcast bullet,I have 20 or so that are at the earlier 1.270 measurement.
Any problem with just running them thru the seating die again, even though they are taper crimped and then a re-crimp?
I tried a couple and they fit the 1911 chamber just as well as the 2nd run of correct 1.240 batch.
I would think the re-crimp would be just as tight?

It may work okay with a cast bullet with good neck tension. It normally doesn't work well with a jacketed bullet nor a over lubed bullet. Measure and then tap the round nose down on a bench, see if the length changes easily. If it does, you lost your tension, you can only fix that by pulling the bullet and resizing.

If they fit the chamber well , why not shoot them as is ?

Well they didn't at the 1.270 length as per my earlier post "Better Bullets" issue.
I just brought them down in the press and ran them thru the taper crimp again.
