I have a Vaquero in 44/40 cal and the bore is .429 as in most 44 mags.I have had the cylinder reamed by Clements and it will chamber .430 bullets now. Has anyone out there used a 240 grain LSWC like is usually used in 44 mag.? Lee load manual lists a 240 gr lead bullet but does not say what type. I notice if you use the SWC it would be seated just a little farther into the case than the standard 200 grain bullet. I don't know if that would be a problem with pressure or not as I do not "hot rod" my loads anyway. The cylinder is long enough I tried that. I would like to try them if anyone has any data they would share. I haven't been able to get the standard 200 gr bullets to shoot very well in it because most of them are undersized for the bore dia. THANKS for any input.
