Are there any aftermarket sights for the 4"?

I've scoured the net and haven't found any.

Thanks in advance for any leads.

I'm not surprised that there hasn't been a response. My google fu is strong and I came up with nothing.

It's annoying that I am more accurate with my 2" SP101 than I am with the 4" SP101.

I know it is "me" and the sights on the 4". I'm simply not getting the same sight picture each shot. The Hi Viz tube sights flat out don't work for me.

I got them off my M&P Pro- upgrading to Trijicon HD sights and have enjoyed the accuracy ever since.

I really like my 4" SP101; however the inability to sight it in has me considering trading it for something else at the LGS.

Not yet, but I suggest we use the "tell the CEO" link on the Ruger website to get some going.......

The only reason I didn't buy the 4" was the front sight. That thing is a monster. I like the old black blades with a little nail polish. Ruger has been great about pumping out new designs, but a little behind on the accessories. I think the market will eventually catch up, the gun is still fairly new.

Have you considered painting the front sight black?

That's a good idea. I could take the tube out and solder a gold bead in the hole or something similar.

I've got to do something. The gun and caliber are a favorite of mine.

Man I hope so. I'm thinking these Hi-Viz sights are a scam. Cheap stuff that gets praised by writers and manufacturers.

Here is an option that I took.

Rob Barnes, you need to explain a little more what you did. We want details. Rear sight and hammer too.

Alan machined off the small front sight and did a pinned-in taller sight with the white line to match the Smith & Wesson J frame adjsuable rear sight he installed. We tried grafting on a commander style spurred hammer but there was not enough clearance so we reshaped the factory hammer to this shape and now it slides right out of a pocket. This little gun now also wears CT laser grips just for grins and giggles.

Unfortunetly the front site on the 4" isn't pinned.

I called and asked Ruger if GP sites were interchangeable and was told no.

I'm going to try painting a white outline around the rear site. [/img]

For whatever it's worth, I think the factory fiber-optic sight is outstanding.
Me too and I far prefer fiber-optic front sights on nearly everything.

That said, the factory sight blade is dovetailed into the integral barrel ramp and could be replaced with an aftermarket or custom made blade.
