My fathers cousin called and said there was a deer down in her pasture and asked if I would come close out for her. So what do you use to dispatch an injured and suffering animal? I thought about the .30-30 that I bought about a month ago. It'd be a great way to test that 170gr LFN load out. No wait!!! Mighty Mouse hasn't had a chance to show what it can do. So I took the GP100 loaded with factory Federal 85gr Hydra-shok's. One of those to the back of his head did a nice job. I didn't see anything that looked like he was shot anywhere else, poor fellow must have been hit by a car or either hurt himself jumping the fence. He had already laid there and kicked long enough to clear out all the leaves and grass around him. It was over due.
