#3 in 222mag.?

Found one today . Question is did Ruger make a 222mag.?
Here's the details #3 , serial # 130-60818 , asking price $469.99 .
Don't believe it to be originally barreled in 222mag. as there is a small flat where the number is inscribed .

Probably started life as a .22 Hornet.
Yes, Ruger's caliber rollmark on the barrel would not have a flat...the rollmark was put on the barrel without grinding a flat in the area beforehand.

I saw one at a gunshow in 1989. I was going to buy it by my wife talked me into my "STOP SMOKING" .223 Remmington.
My experience with a 222 is that it is more accurate than a 223.
