22/45 Bolt problem

When I fire the last round the bolt does not go into the extract postion. It works fine other tahan this problem that just strted. I have two Mags and it happens with both. I have around 5K rounds through the pistol.I Any ideas?

What type/brand of ammo. None of my new Rugers lock back 100% using standard or low velocity ammo.

Are you saying the Bolt doesn't lock open after the last shot fired?
If so,, quite often the bolt release can get worn of a person uses it to release the bolt instead of pulling the bolt to the rear when reloading. THe pressure of the bolt pushing against the stop can get "rounded" a bit & not allow it to lock open.

and TOO 'hot' an ammo can make it bounce, (slip) off the lever too...............Or the bold lower front edge could be chipped, rounded off or worn as noted above.......

Most likely dirty with 5k rounds through it, and the caked crud is slowing the bolt down to where it does not go all the way back far enough for the bolt stop to catch it. Clean it good and lube it and the problem may go away. Clean the inside of your magazines too. They could be cruddy too.

Thanks everyone..

I was using Remington Thunder bolt and I half the box before this strted to happen. It was cleaned and I also cleaned the magazines the day this started to happened. I will take it apart and check the bolt stop and other parts for any wear.. Thanks again..
