Yes sir I do. The Rock Island compact officer's models are a great little 45 ACP pistol that runs well and won't break the bank doing it.
Mine will feed everything from light lead reloads to full house factory ammo just fine. I keep the length of my reloads at 1.250, and that length works well in my pistol. They are a little heavy-being all steel, but are very reliable. I don't care for the stock,smooth grips that are in your picture, and instead have a set of Hogue wrap around rubber finger groove grips on mine.
My wife really enjoys shooting it too!

Sure, they're Pachmayr G10 Tactical Series in brown/black. I bought them new in package on eBay for a very small amount...I believe it was only around $26 shipped.

Figure this is a good place to ask. Sorry if this a thread hijack. There's an officer size 1911 floating around in my area for about $1000. It's a Ruger "Custom Shop" (6779). I'm interested, but I'm not sure what the "custom shop" work entails, and I'm not sure if it's worth even the $1000 ask. There's almost no info on the custom shop or this model on the web, so I figured this is the right place to ask. Thank you all!

I like Ruger but I am not spending $1K on a 1911 and if I do it's not going to be a Ruger. I reserve the right to change my mind if it's gold plated or aims itself.

I have a full size 1911 (Charles Daly) that is Philippines made (Armscor). It eats anything and everything I have ever fed it.

I have a RIA and it has about 10% USGI parts if that helps. Swapped off the full length guide rod and parts as well as the ambi safety and maybe a few little parts like the grips. Got it secondhand (like almost all my stuff) after the giant billboard labels were swapped to tiny (that I colored in) but before people realized RIAs were good to go so I didn't pay the high price they have now. Like I wrote in another topic, would love to have an officer size in 9X19.
I had one made by Colt, years ago. Today if I had another 1911, and doubt I ever will, the smallest I’d go would be commander.

I rue the day I traded off my Springfield V-10 45acp. Would love to find another and if you have one for sale or trade, let me know please.

Yes they are but don't let that worry you. RIA (1911) pistols have a very good reputation, and there's probably more 1911-style pistols being made in the Philippines than anywhere else these days......I'm not a fan of the stubby "officer" versions. but own a matched pair of the RIA's M1911A1-FS models....Never had a moments trouble out of either, both worked 100% right out of the box, both have nice triggers, and both shoot to POA....To put that into perspective, that's way more than I can say about the Colt 70-Series that I once owned.
