I am thrilled by the accuracy of this gem, but I have a question about the sight picture. I have to use #3 sight picture, but would prefer #1 or #2. Since we can't adjust the rear elevation, are different front sights available?

Dawson has sights of various heights that will fit this dovetail. Instructions to calculate sight needed, below:

Personaly, I can't use "dot" sights, for the very reason that you pictured. I guess that's because I grew up with regular post sights, meaning that as far as I'm concerned, the bullet is supposed to hit exactly where the top of the front sight says that it will (see image 2).
On the other hand, I am rather fond of a white front sight for most uses, and can make do perty-well with a black front sight which has a vertical (white) stripe....if the stripe goes all the way to the top of the post.
The rear sight has gotta be black though, no question about that. Trying to line up both a rear and a front when both have dots, stripes, or whatever, makes my eyes get crazy.

I have to use the same sight picture as #3 with my 5" at 20yds.

I prefer #2 sight picture @ 20-25yds - mine shoots about 5" low at those distances.

I guess its not just me I find the same thing I have to use 3 also. Now could i shorten up the front post get ride of the white dots on rear and go from there for 2? Or should i just find a shorter front post?
