1911 CMD guide rod

Will a Wilson Combat 25C guide rod work in a CMD. It says it fits commander size pistol. Has anyone tried it?

I don't think so (but can't say no for certain). I tried using the govt model's guide rod in my CMD and the slide wouldn't lock back. Not sure why and I'm going to call Ruger next week to investigate further.

I would say if you already have the 25C, install it and give your CMD a thorough safety check (make sure the slide locks).

I had read somewhere that it would work on 4.25" barrel. After I ordered one, I was told that it would not work. I'll try it and see if is a problem.

If the 25C don't Work Wilson Combat will have one that does work, give their Tech support a call and ask them before you order they can set you up with what you need they are real good people to deal with I buy lots of 1911 parts from them their service is excellent.

Call them and if it fits a Commander size 1911 then should fit a CMD.

Received the 25C guide rod. Install with no problem. Everything seems to be good. slide will lock back when cycling by hand. haven't shot it yet. I don't anticipate any problems.
