155 prefix Security Six

On the way home from the show today, I stopped by a gunshop. They had a beautiful RDA-34 Security Six. The SN was 155-016xxx. Other than looking unfired, the serial numbers were smaller than usual. Are these the Red Label size numbers I've heard about?? Is there any additional value to the revolver?

I might pick it up Monday, if the price is right. 8)

Yes, the same roll-die set used to mark the same sn's on the red label shotgun. I've not heard of anybody getting any extra premium though for the variation. There are actually quite a few of those out there...just not enough DA collectors.

My 6" blue Security S/N 154-31988 has the smaller roll mark too.

Never noticed it or thought about it much until I read about them in RENE.

Well, I made an offer on the one at the shop. The owner was gone Saturday, but will be in tomorrow. Just have to wait on the phone call.

When I first saw the smaller numbers, I vaguely remembered something about it in the RENE also. It is a VERY nice revolver, but no box. If they except my offer, I will buy it...........
