I wish most standard factory ammo for 45Colt was made to go around 1100fps. from a 5.5" bbl... it would make life easier.

Then it wouldn't be what it is. And what it is is fine enough that in it's "standard" configuration, it's survived for about 150 years so far.

The "ONLY" thing the standard .45 Colt load (250-255gr @ 860fps) would benefit from is a better shaped bullet. Say a good SWC.

The heavier bullet, higher velocity loads are not standard and will never be. They have their nitch but for the most part are over kill.

I don't understand any bit of this thread, as SO many 45 Colt-chambered guns are made of balsa wood and simply would crumple under the stress of launching such bullets so fast.

I wish there was always .45Colt shelf ammo "in stock" at the local stores (w/sporting goods departments) that would go 1000fps-1100fps... like there is always a box of 240gr .44mag on the store shelf.

 ........I WISH THIS!!!... NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS... I ____ WISH ___ THIS!!!!!!!!!!
