Awhile back (Maybe a year ago or so?) a forum member posted a really nice 10mm revolver conversion on a Ruger. Think it was a GP-100. I have been using the search function here and can not find it. Can anyone please help me find the thread?

Some years ago David Clements' S&W Model 686 and GP 100 conversions to 10 mm were disused in threads. I searched for a few minutes and got no where. It may be the threads were too long ago. You might think of better terms to include with Clements' name than I did. I hope having his name helps. Good luck.

Clements... I really like 3" barreled revolvers so I went with that. And I just saw a photo of a blued GP100 4" that Clements converted and it looked really nice.

Hubba Hubba, that is what I am talkin about, moon clip 40 S&W/10mm CCW gun. That is exactly what I would build if I were making decisions at Ruger.
Make a sweet 4" and a 6" target/Hunter

I sent a 3 inch GP100 .38 Spcl to Clements for conversion back in February. I am also having the barrel flatsided. Should be ready next February or March.

Altamont makes some old style GP100 grips

It would be interesting but remember S&W used to make the 610 and 310 in 10mm and dropped both models. I keep looking for used examples in gun stores. Have not got to looking at gunpoker, etc.

If you are into 10mm and have not been there yet then the 10mm forum is interesting.

I bought my 610 in the early 1990's and I still shoot it quite a bit, and have owned a 310NG. I really like the 10mm/40S&W in a revolver. I have always wanted an L Frame 646, but they are sky high, and can have some issues with the cylinder from what I read.

I picked up a second 3" Adjustable sight GP100 in 38 Special a while back with the plan of sending it to Clemends for the 10mm conversion.

I sure hope that Altamont gets the Letts Compact GP100 grips in production soon.
I have their Full Size Grip on my Blued 6" GP100. I really like the grip, and they look very good, just too large for concealed carry for me.
I have Pachmeyer Compact grips on both of my 3" GP100's. I managed to come up with 2 sets of New Old Stock grips over on the S&W Forum a while back. Pachmayer needs to get the Compac Grip back in production.

I am sure anyone with a GP100 conversion to 10mm/40 S&W would be happy with it. Whats not to love, a Great Revolver and a Great Cartridge in the same package.

Converting 3" Adjustable sight GP100 in 38 Special to 10mm? That's not nice for somebody who is desperately looking for such revolver.

If I can suggest, sell it as is and get GP100 in 357. There are hundreds of thousands of them, and you can probably make few bucks.

I liked the three inch GP Clements in the pic so I bought a four inch and sent it off to him for work. I sent him a four inch and had him cut it to three inch. Slab side the barrel, leave as a 357 mag (although I am a huge 10mm fan, just not in a revolver), had him bead blast it, action job and install a front sight as in the pic. I got the gun back after about two months and couldn't be happier. The quality of work is second to none. I highly recommend CCG.

Just curious as I really like the 10mm, does it offer enough over the 357 to make it worth the trouble ?

200 gr bullets at 1200 FPS and moon clips, yes it is worth it

Doubletap's 200 gr 357 load is 1400fps. Not sure what barrel length that's tested in. Maybe today I'll dig through what information I can find and see if I can come up with an answer for myself.

For the record, I shoot both 357 and 10mm. Sure, we can compare stuff, but I think they're really apples and oranges.

Yeah, so significantly more energy and velocity for DT's 10mm loads. What I'd really like to see is some testing in a 357 revolver vs a 10mm auto.

Moon clips is not a valid reason, plenty of moon clip .357's out there.

Not that any reason is needed to get what you want. Nice gun, hope it does what you want. The GP's have a lot of potential to be customized.

I wanted to.have my GP customized, but decide to buy this instead. Looking at the pictures of the clement GP's I kind of wish I had done the GP instead.

I have several 357 guns and a Glock 20 (10mm). The ballistics are very close when loaded hot. I only shoot Underwood through the 10mm, and switch it out to a 40 barrel for plinking. The 10mm with 180gr XTP bullets has proven effective on deer and hogs. Ive not taken game with a 357.

With that said, these conversions are gorgeous; but I'd have to go with the 41 magnum if I was to do it. That's a serious step up from the 10 or 357.

Compact grips for GP-100 are now available from Ruger again.

I got my 10mm the other day and the work is fantastic! The action job was definitely worth it. I will post pics as soon as the Altamont grips arrive.
