1022 "Gatling gun" - WWYD

Don't know why, other than I was working a lot of overtime at the time, but I bought one of those 1022 "gatling gun" kits a long time back

Given that this build has spent most of its life just sitting in the barn, I figured it need a storage box so I came up with this ideal.

Now I have it boxed, I think it needs to be turned into a SR1911

The kit was something like $400
the 2 1022 carbines were $300
the extended mags about $ 50
now the crate another $ 50

So what do ya'll think I should ask?

Sounds like it should be worth the price of a sr1911.

I had one of those a few years back. Picked it up used. After burning up three or four bricks of ammo I saw I it's issues and and it wasn't quite as much fun as hoped. I stripped it down, made two 10-22's (all the parts came with) and sold the gatling kit for nearly what I paid for the whole assembly.

Just a thought versus the assembly. It may pay better.

That has been the thoughs I had since I recently stumbled on it ;
whether to see if I can get rid of as is, or put the actions back in thier wood and just sell the "kit".

as for the original parts, the sights were destroyed during removal, but that isn't that much to replace. the actions are also scarred from the mounting.

putting together a threaded barrel 1022 is on may short list of next gun, so missing sights would not be a problem

Dan's comment pretty well sums it up.

...I saw I it's issues and and it wasn't quite as much fun as hoped....

My first brick was trying to just get it to work, never got it real good and just gave up on it. during this cleaning, I think I've learned how to set the actions to get the cam/trigger timing correct on the first try.

I have never aimed it at a target, just into the dirt. trying to aim while turning a crank and pulling hard on the trigger is a little more than I've been able to do.

They need a little more engineering on the gatling trigger. You have to squeeze so hard it hurts to keep it cycling well. Even when it is tuned up. A thick leather glove helps a lot. I started looking at it with thoughts of modifying it, but decided I had better things to do.

It really is a hoot to play with, but it is a novelty item for sure.

There was a video of one on you tube somebody put an electric motor on. I wonder if the feds ever caught up with him?
