10-22 rear sight

has anyone changed a rear sight on a ruger 10-22? are there any tricks to it?

Brass punch and a small hammer and just tap it out.

Yep, thats all there is to it. There is a guy on Ebay who sells an aperture sight blade for the 10/22. I've got one and its awesome!

I think when tapping it out it is left to right looking from the back of the barrel...

if you are trying to go tactical... tech sights are pretty dern good.

That's what I've heard here but don't hold me to it....

So, it's left to right on the way out and right to left on the way in?

Front sight the same procedure?

Correct.... the dovetail is tapered to help hold the base.
