I have a 10/22 that is having ftf issues. It has a BC .920 barrel installed. What happens is it will not manually chamber a round from the magazine. If I insert a round into the chamber, it will then fire and eject all rounds in the mag. I've thoroughly cleaned the gun, tried different ammo, different factory mags, nothing helps. Like I said, when a round is manually inserted directly into the chamber, it will then chamber and fire all remaining rounds in the mag just fine. I posted this over on rimfirecentral a while back, but never got a solution. Thanks.

ra, What your saying is, once you have a round chambered and fire it, all the other rounds in the mag chamber ok and fire and eject. Is that right? If so, then there is something "slightly" out of alignment between the barrel and magazine. The force of the bolt coming back and going forward in recoil is powerful enough to "override" this slight misalignment. These kinds of problems can be "tedious" to get straight especially with other than standard equipment installed. That's exactly why "drop-in" is often "not" drop-in! I recommend you take the gun to a local "competent" gunsmith and fully explain to him "what" is happening and what you have done to the gun yourself. I'm sure he can get it straightened out........................Dick

• have you tried different magazines?

• did this occur before the change of barrel?

• does it occur with all ammo brands?

This may sound odd, but try loosening the barrel mounting screws and re tighten them. It worked for me during a squirrel hunt last year, hope it works for you.
