10 22 four digit serial number value ?

Hi came across a 98% 10 22 with a four digit serial #4xxx just a beautiful dark walnut stock what are these guns worth ? I cant find anything similar to compare a sold or asking price

I don't know but am anxious to hear what other members say.
A local buddy has one in the "under 5000" range and I'd like to make him a fair offer.

Personally, I would not sell it for less than 600. 4 digit..........98% How many do you see? :wink:

In reference to the post regarding the 10/22 and price for it: was As I see it. $300 would be more than a fair market price for it . Unless it is other than a std 10/22 ,I just cannot see much more than , pricewise, for the rifle. Granted it is an early piece and unless one is in the market for early examples, the market does have upper limits, at this point in time; next few years, price probably will be higher. One has to decide for ones self what their dollar limit would be. A good deal is when the seller and the buyer are both satisfied with the price sold and price paid. Sometimes you just have to walk by the deal. Thanks for listening.

I'm surprised Vaughn has not jumped in on this question. I had one in my sights and asked him about price and he told me what I'm sure he'd tell you for that price and condition to jump on it!

I would say 5-$600. Last three digit I sold was for $900.

No. I've offered $400 for the one my friend owns. He bought it new. Told me he'd never thought of selling it ..... hasn't shot it in many years and will let me know if/when he decides to turn it loose.

No doubt I'd go $450 if I thought he was serious.

Thanks everyone for your opinions of all the Rugers and all the 22 rifles I have owned I never owned a 10 22 this one was at a dealer who had about 8 or ten 10 22s siting on the shelf I never look at them unless its a RSI which I have always wanted so as I am walking out a fella I know stops me and asks if I had seen it one look and I put a deposit on it well its not a RSI but it is a beauty
