I'm an inveterate tinkerer, soooo. I have a near new 10-22 that I bought new 7-8 years ago. It's been shot maybe 500 times but not really as accurate as I expected (compared to other 10-22's I had). I decided I wanted a threaded barrel and checked the cost of having one of my spares threaded-$80-100 plus undetermined wait time. Checking ebay I found I could buy a new threaded barrel for about $100-110 and have it in a week-which I did.
Swap took place last night. I discovered the original barrel v-block was barely tight and the barrel was not what I'd consider tight in the receiver. The replacement barrel required some effort to seat in the receiver-no hammer needed but significant effort with bare hands.
I'm hoping the tighter fit improves the accuracy but weather doesn't look conducive to testing today. A 3 shot function test was perfect so I'm hopeful.
