10/22 barrel change question

After changing a barrel on a 10/22 did anyone check them with "go - no go" gages? Is it really necessary?

Nope, never bothered and never had an issue.

Assuming that you mean, "check the headspace?" Headspace is controlled in the bolt face on the 10/22 rifles, so even after a barrel change, headspace will be the same.
