This 627 is one of my favorites. They should have made a "mountain gun" like it.

The 686 in the video has the S&W "Classic" type of lockup.
I wonder how many of the "Classic" features are found in the 686 and if they are shared with the .44 Mag.
I've said before that S$W must have hired one of Bill Ruger's Grandsons to run the Engineering Department on the Classic revolvers.

I am either thinking of the 44M to shoot 44 Spl or wait for the 45 LC. Do we know for sure the 45 LC is coming? A 45ACP would also be acceptable.

I've handled the new Mountain Gun and would not pay extra for those grips. The shape is just wrong and uncomfortable. I have Roper style grips from Herrett's, John Culina and Keith Brown that are head & shoulders above them. I also have a tuned 629MG from the end of the forged era so I'm good there.

The Taffin PPP is supposed to have all their issues fixed now. It doesn't blow my skirt up as I've grown averse to stainless steel and I figure 99% of my revolvers are John Taffin commemoratives. :ROFLMAO:

The JT PPP also is supposed to come blued. I am a blued guy also. However I have put my 'want' in to the dealer, but he says they are all allocated. So no luck here. At least not yet. As you say, 99% of all my revolvers are JT commemoratives.... Especially the medium frame .45 Colt and .44 Special flattops I have.... :) AsTaffin titled one of his articles "Victory at Last" {edited, This is because the .45 Colt and .44 Special were supposed to follow the .357 on the medium frame in the 50s. However, the .44 Mag was introduced in '56 and those plans were shelved in favor of the large frame .44 Magnum BH and then SBH... Until the medium frame NM flattop returned with the 50th Anniversary .357, followed by the Lipseys .44 Special, and finally the .45 Colt } .
