Im going to be needing a holster or 2 for both a Single Seven and a Blackhawk. Is there a darling to the forum I need to be checking?

I’ve spent fair money on good custom holsters. As much as I appreciate a BBQ rig I can’t really justify 2 of them. These guns likely won’t be carried more than 100hrs a year more likely than not it’ll be 25hrs and in the field. Strong side belt holster.

Diamond D. Their prices for what you're looking for aren't all that bad, but the lead time is about 2 months. They ain't fancy, but they are durable. About $135 for the Hip Hunter. I have a number of their products.

I own Simply Rugged,, & they are good. I own a Diamond D & it too is good.

But by far,, for the best quality,, no matter how much I want to carry a gun,, I can't recommend Mike "Doc" Barranti's work enough. His work, leather weight, & fit is better than the others I've mentioned.

Decades ago,, a prominent gun writer,, "Skeeter Skelton" said that "next to my doctor,, my holster maker is my most important person!"
Because of that,, and his appreciation of Skeeter,, those of us who have dealt with Mike,, nicknamed him "Doc" out of respect for both of those men.

Look into Barranti Leather.

El Paso Saddlery, Milt Sparks, Triple K, Bianchi, are all good holsters I use, but mostly I use Simply Rugged Holsters from Chino Valley AZ.

I don't ever carry a firearm, but Simply Rugged made me FABULOUS belt for my jeans; I wear it every day and it's made a world of difference as I get older and not quite so 'rugged'.

Bianchi Frontier Gunleather is no longer in business. They made fantastic holsters, since John Bianchi headed that company. The ones made by Safariland, who absorbed the original Bianchi Gunleather, are IMO, very poor compared to when John ran the company. Your other company choices are great, and have both EP Saddlery and Triple K holsters. Both are great.

While I certainly agree that Milt Sparks makes exceptional holsters, there is currently a 1-year wait for a new one. Their dealers sometimes will have the more common ones in stock but if you're looking for anything unusual, no.

......I carried a 4-5/8" OM 357 Blackhawk in an unlined Bianchi Lawman holster almost daily for 3 years, plus off 'n on for another 10 years.....It served me well.

I've had pretty good luck with El Paso Saddlery and Galco, as far as commercial mainstream makers go, although I don't think either are the quality they were 10 years back...

I actually have one for a 6 1/2” black hawk. I think of it as enormous, but it might just be the gun it has to cover.

I'm partial to El Paso Saddlery, especially so their Threepersons holster. I have strong side and cross draws for my Blackhawks and Vaqueros, plus EPS holsters for my 1911's. I couldn't be more pleased with their fit and quality.

I’ve got a milt sparks VMII and had another. Excellent holsters, never thought of them for a SA.

Simply Rugged sourdough for my GP100 4", SR Silver Dollar pancake for 2.25" SP101. Bucheimer Concealers for 4" Service Six & Speed Six 2 3/4". I've been happy with Azula holsters for a variety of handguns at a very reasonable price & good quality.

Another shout out about Simply Rugged.
I bought a pocket holster for an LCP …. Think it was $20 or $25 total. This was many years ago.
I received TWO holsters …. About a week apart. I was only billed ONCE.
Unbeknownst to me they were in the middle of moving from Alaska to Arizona at that time.
When tying to return my “free” holster …. Rob ( I think thats his name ) told me to keep it and gift it to a friend. I did just that.

That sold me on their business model and customer service.

+1 on the Simply Rugged Sourdough, which carries a GP100 OWB and IWB very well for me. I am waiting to receive my birthday present from Doc Barranti, a Texas Tuck and Spare for my SP101 (.327 Lipsey's), and just know that I will be wowed by his work. Maybe when it comes to gun leather, as with certain other things, we have what folks used to describe as "an embarrassment of riches" -- so many good choices that it can be a painful pleasure to have to choose from among them! But my wife says I have to, and I love my wife, so . . .

El Paso Saddlery (El Paso, TX) and Black Hills Leather (Laredo, TX) are my favorites for high quality rigs. For a little less quality and lesser ability to customize, I buy from Falco, and its affiliate of Craft, both of which are Eastern European made, but quicker ship time than the US makers.

If you need the sixgun to be just a little lower I would consider the Simply Rugged Cattleman. They are great holsters.

Even though I only own one for one of my BFR's I also like Simply Rugged gear. They're not too expensive, are well made and a cut above the mass produced "better" leather makers.

Depending on embellishments you order they could def be a BBQ holster too.

Heres some of his work, that my junky old 2ond gen Colt lives in.

Im not into the flowery tooling designs but he can do those as well. I do like the convex Morgan Dollar though.

He also makes a fine looking Python SKIN holster.

That will be the next one I get for my old model Vaquero large frame 44mag.

If you are in to the coin thing he has everything from bare breasted mexican libitards to Mercury Dimes, to Walking Liberty Halves.
And yes, I know where to use Capitol letters
