I just acquired a Ruger single six revolver in .22/.22 magnum. It is a 3 screw and I think it is from the 1970's. In wax paper It has original box with a 69.00 dollar price tag and is wrapped in wax paper. Does anybody know how much it is worth?

Sounds like a nice clean gun with 2 cylinders, W/ box ~ $600-700,,, IMO
Converted or Original?

Yes good detailed pictures will definitely help.
I find there worth what another will pay and usually Single Six’s sell for close to what a New Model sells for.
With that said, I would rather have a Unconverted Old Model vs NM.

With the condition issues it’s a $400 gun if the bore is good, and $100 of the $400 is the value of the cylinder that is in the box ,,, IF it doesn’t have issues.
 
A new single six is over $800 now. I’d rather have an old one if it’s in good shape. It’s a $600 gun around here.

Looks like I need to take a road trip to Utah if the prices are that cheap there. There are some cosmetic issues but that's a $550-600 package here.
 
As noted,, that gun is worth more than $400 in most places. Even the RENE Price Guide has it for more money. ( And many feel the Guide is often too low.) Easily $550 or more depending upon a hands on close up inspection.

I'm NO EXPERT,,,, but I can do a simple search,,, and when it comes to Single Sixes they just don't bring over $600.
Yes a few do,,, but those are the exception, and usually there is an obvious reason.
My original valuation, $600-700, figuring, Gun $500, nice box $75, extra cylinder $100, and then +/- $25-50 give or take.

The first ruger 22 I ever bought was in I957 and it was 69.00 and I was 16 and had to get my mother to sign for me. I still have it and I have shot a pickup truck load of 22's through it. No tax no paperwork.
 
Love that box with the original price tag. 😁 How far we have come.

RENE puts an excellent copy of that convertible at $505 with $110 for a nice box.

As mentioned that one looks like a nice package. Good score! ;)

My “Liberty” Security Six still has a $140.00 price tag stuck on it’s lid.
 
I have a 1970 3screw convertible never fired with paperwork and original box with the grease markings on box. Some say rhe box is worth more than the pistol.

Nice package Harborcraft.
But the SC6 box isn't worth more than the gun. SOME of the older and scarcer boxes are worth more than the guns,, but very few. Outer cardboard shippers are also harder to find for the rare boxes too.
The RENE Price Guide lists a minty SC6 box at $90.
NOT trying to upset you,, but to actually help you understand actual information about your box.
 
My son asked me for my 1967 Single Six many years after I had him, unknowingly, shoot blanks out of it. He was only 13 at the time, but he had a good memory about the incident. For several years I missed having a .22 Mag pistol and when I found one (new model) I bought it for more of a memory than anything, although I have taken it out and had fun shooting it.
 
Harborcraft should move his item to Classifieds and not piggy-back here. He has the SC6 box ….. the OP has the less common RSSM box.

Roger that one member said that after the box for that gun was correct after seeing grease markings comfirmed it. The single six convertable older model never fired holds the value, I agree.

nice but by the time they ( GB ) gets done with all the tax, shipping and transfer fee it would have been $638.28 for me
 
Still a fair price for what looks to be a new in the box with SHIPPER 54-year-old shooter.
Yes, it is a shame that all of the extras are now added to the price.
It was great when there was no tax, shipping $15 and no FFL fees for me. Days are long gone. :( :( :(
I was able to buy some really nice, rare Rugers off GB in the past.
 
This is the only old Ruger box I have and it has the SN that match the RSS (look close and you can see where I blurred out the remaining numbers). My box is in nearly pristine shape. :LOL:
