I just received the screw from Ruger.
The specs to reinstall the action requires 90 inch pound torque setting on straight slot screws.
My wheeler fat wrench only goes to 50-60 in pounds and the equivalent ft lb is 7.92 .
I don't know if I will fiddle with this if I can't torque it properly. I wonder if Ruger offers torx replacement screws or hexes.

Any work arounds using a regular torque wrench?

Could you tell me where you got the set screw from. I need one for my ruger m77. Thanks Bill
Go to the ruger site and find the manual for your rifle, the recall info will be right there. I have not installed the replacment because i want to see of Ruger has torx or hex screws for the action instead of staying with the slot heads.
