    Ruger P95 Questions.

Congrats on a great pirstol! If all else fails. It's just a quick flick of the thumb to disengage the safety. Index finger will do it also on the opposite side.

    New P345?

It seems to be a good portion of human nature, huh. Where are the positive, happy folks? I also wonder how many of the forum critics actually get out and shoot their guns. What am I thinking?..everybody on the net is a pro.;) The P345...That's the reason I logged on this evening. I'm probably...

Just got it...theres a crack in it..who can help me? pics&gt

I was wondering how in the heck that crack came to be. That seems to be the most logical explanation. Something got into the cast. Then it was cleaned out when it was blasted/cleaned... How something like that gets passed QC and out the doors, idk. I would definitely be back to the...

no sir, I would not fire that gun. As the other replies, I would have it on the way back to Ruger, or right back to the gun shop to swap for another one, if they have one to exchange. and if they'll be so cordial. Glad ya inspected that one, huh.

I have a hankering for a .45 with a decent capacity as well. The XD always gets a good review.

Which caliber handgun would you buy?

I'm hoping the seal/ninja doesn't come around either.lol. nah, that's actually a quick little hand trick for a would be attacker that pulls a revolver on you. Heaven forbid that happen, but it does, at point blank, to folks. I was actually taught that little quick grab by a seal/ninja.lol...hope...

Which caliber handgun would you buy?

Fairfax, VA must be opposite town. 9x19 is the most readily available and affordable ammo I see in every town/city for about 400sq/miles, as well as internet ammo supply. Also, everyone claims it most available around the country. Heck, you can even find 9mm at Wal-Mart several times a week...

what guard dog do you keep at bedside

American/Pit Bulldog mix, 15lb Yorkshire terrier.lol(he's not hearing much now days, but the bulldog is a youngbuck at only a year-in-a-half. He can hear a pin drop) I keep the P95 loaded with 16 critical defense rds right next to me beside the alarm-clock and mag-light. Just a little over a...

Which caliber handgun would you buy?

There are truly way too many variables to plan for. Your trusty revolver isn't worth anything if the intruder simply puts his hand around the gun. Bye bye double action. bye bye any action from that revolver. It would go from close to 100% reliable to zero with a hold of the cylinder.

Which caliber handgun would you buy?

Ultimately. for self defense. Since I can see where this is heading. The most important aspect of SD is shot placement. Wheather you're carrying a .32, .380, 9mm, .357, .45...shot placement. There are folks that can DRT an intruder very quickly w/.32 while someone else still attempting to place...

    rapid-fire/semi-rapid

nice shooting Cheesewhiz! I have some land about 45minutes inland that was pioneered by an ancestor almost 150yrs ago. That's where I grew up hunting, fresh-water fishing, and frequent plinking right off the porch of my camp house lately...since my new found interest in handguns. I usually...

Which caliber handgun would you buy?

9mm. Very clear and easy decision for me. -Ammo availability. -Inexpensive ammo everywhere. -Widest variety of ammo. Pick your poison. From $9 target ammo, to +P state-of-the-art SD rounds that will get the job done. -Can't forget capacity. The 9mm is great in this department as well. 9mm is...

    rapid-fire/semi-rapid

Are you talking about "bump-firing"?..like how you can do with a rifle? It's almost like full auto with a rifle. You have to use 2 hands though, to achieve a bump-fire because your trigger grip is loosened, and your other hand works against the recoil making the rifle bounce back off your...
