    Ruger standard rear sight change

Can anyone tell me when Ruger changed the rear sight design on the Red Eagle standard? The first were just straight up, then they went to a longer ramped rear sight. Thanks in advance.

When did Ruger change the rear sights from the straight up post to the longer sight? Does anyone know the serial number range of the change? Thanks

    Ruger standard red eagle

Hey, Thanks for the reply. I really do appreciate it. The link was very helpful, but also has created more questions. I really just wanted a red eagle. Just because they are a little more rare than the standard black eagle. A friend got one, and piqued my interest. If I got one, I would...

    Ruger standard red eagle

Hi All. Hope this finds you and yours well. I have been toying with the idea of getting a Ruger red eagle. I know very little about these. I know that it was 1951 that they stopped using the red eagle on the grip. OK, what i would like to know is, will it hurt the value if one is reblued? Only...

    Blackhawk cylinder conversion

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas!!! I have a 357 mag cylinder and I would like to have it converted to 44-40. My questions are: 1. Is this physically possible? 2. Is this safe? 3. Can anyone recommend anyone that can do it? Thanks to all that reply.

    Blackhawk box question

Are the boxes for the convertables marked differently from those that are only one caliber? If so, are the OM boxes different from the new models? Thanks in advance to all that reply :?:

    bisley hammer / grip frames????

Might as well throw in my two cents worth. What purpose does the "hump" on the back of the bisley hammer serve? Is it just cosmetic? If you grind this hump off, can it ever be used on a bisley again? Thanks!!

    Yet another question for Flatgate

I must have done something wrong trying to copy a quote. What I meant to say ws that if I had know that I could order a free spin pawl, I would have. I never know that you could order them from the factory. I guess it's time to call Ruger. Thanks everybody!! John

    Yet another question for Flatgate

Flatgate, you are still my gunsmithing hero, even if you don't do the conversion! Jimbo357mag, That is exactly what I needed to know. Thank you both for your replies. I really do appreciate them. John

    Yet another question for Flatgate

I ordered and recieved the Iowegan revolver guide. GREAT book! OK, I see in there that one can remove the corner of the pawl and have a free turning cylinder. How much can be safely removed? What happens if you take off too much ? Thanks, John
