    M77 RSI 7mm-08

Just found a nice RSI 7mm-08, with the red butt pad and tang safety. I have never seen one and wanted one since I saw a picture in GD some 30 years ago. Serial # 772-29xxxxx, any thoughts on #s produced, and at $500 was it a good buy? It has only minor stock dings and no blue wear. Couldn't let...

.41 Magnum - S&W model 57 vs. Redhawk vs. Blackhawk

I ve owned two of each. I loved the 4" M57 the best with the 6" second. I once rolled a running jackrabbit with the 6" shooting double action at 75 yards. The only witness was my 6 year old. This was all in the late 70's, still wish I had that particular 4" M57. The Blackhawks were both 6''...

    44 Special Vaquero Coming!

I stand corrected, Ruger is on the Bandwagon and us loonies are still lusting after the 44Spcl. Like I said in another post, hope the two generations behind me discover this wonderful cartridge. We rediscovered the 45 Colt after a Century, why not the 44Spcl. Estacado

    Factory Vs Lipsey

I love the 44Spcl, have owned at least one since 1980. I hope the buying public discovers the magic of the 98% cartridge. It will do what any reasonable human being has a need for in a handgun. That is civilian use, military and police options are another matter. Though the neat little S&W 21 is...

    Factory Vs Lipsey

    I now have 3 Lipsey 44Specials, 2 x 4 5/8" and 1 x 5 1/2". That along with a 624, 24, and 21 S&W I m set with 44 Spcls for life. Waiting for the Rugers I had considered a conversion of a 50th Anniversary 357 by Clements. For the cost of the conversion I got the 2 short barrel versions. I traded...

    Old Eyes, Tired Eyes

Im 65, tried all the above and being an archer settled on an instinctive method, kind of. I focus on the target and let the rear notch and front sight find their natural alignment/center. Just like shooting a peep sight in theory. Shrunk group size and could finally hit with my fixed sight...

Why is .44 Special so good?

Like the mystique of the 44Spcl, have had a Smith 24 and 624 for 20 years. I now have a M21 and 3 Lipsey Blackhawks to boot. The last 3, two with a 6 month wait, and the last one just showed up in the gun case, were something I lusted after for years. I was going to convert a 50th Anniversary...

Sights for an Old Fart? - Can't see them good any more

I m 64, some years ago, after shooting a longbow instinctive, I thought, "why not shoot the short gun the same way?" Focus on the target, have the rear sight and front sight fuzzed out, they will naturally align like a "peep sight". Had a member of the Air Force pistol team tell me it wouldnt...
