Frisco TX trial

I think prayers for the family are more than in order and I agree. But none of this is off point.

A murderous thug — somehow believing that he had the right to wantonly kill someone (having been given that belief perhaps through racial or cultural rhetoric or his upbringing) killed that son. Perhaps Carmelo is just bad; perhaps it’s learned behavior. Whatever. Such a person can’t be allowed to be out in public nor can people who act like he did with a similar mentality. Otherwise there’ll be another event like this with another family dealing with a tragedy.
The perp had a 3.5” blade, he was using it as a get off me weapon. The perp asked if the kid was going to be ok? Generally a 3.5” blade isn’t used in a stabbing. The military uses 6-7” blades for sentry removal etc. All that I have read so far says the perps knife entered the heart. I question that assertion.

If you have a blade less than 5.5" long its legal by state law on a school is my understanding, however I believe schools can ban all knives.
Something about " location restriction knives" is how the length was put into law, according to the internet.
Please give a citation for the law regarding knife length, in Texas.

Epic trolling. It most certainly was not.

Refer to the text of the OP. He stated this and ONLY this ….. For those interested in the Frisco ISD stabbing, an update.

Dude, you been here about 10 DAYS. You should move along elsewhere if you’re disappointed or unhappy here.

Figure it out. We’re not patient with obvious trolls and trouble makers. Got it?
Supposedly, these are the rules I reported on, and you dismissed:
  • posting content which promotes hatred of any race, ethnicity, sex, gender, or religion;
  • posting any defamatory or otherwise false information;
Pardon me for misunderstanding what moderators do here. You would think posting wildly false statistics about a race of people would be a violation of both.

And I wasn't talking about the OP's post, but the way the discussion went from post #7 on.

5. Moderators are here to keep order. When a mod takes action (for example, deleting posts, moving or locking a thread), it is inappropriate to question that action in the public forum. Any questions, comments, objections, or suggestions should be made via PM to a mod who will respond as they see fit.

7. Ruger Forum membership is a privilege, not a right. Membership is at the sole discretion of the forum administrators.

8. The exit is always open. Some people choose to leave, some are escorted out.

I've been a member/guest here on this Forum for well over 20 years now.

Former owner & main enforcer of the actions by the members was a gentleman named "FlatGate." His real name was Carl Laco.

I can also recall a few conversations he & I had, via PM's and phone,, where he was very appreciative of how I would often inject a post into a thread,, that caused the posters to stop & re-think their attitudes, their writings, and in general,, be respectful towards each other. He asked me to be a moderator,, yet I politely declined,, as I'm "computer stupid" and honestly didn't have the time either.

Quite often,, threads are started that go in different directions,, than what the OP intended them to go.
It's because we are all human & have our own thoughts & attitudes.

Reading some of the posts here,, by a few people,, make me miss FlatGate. he would have politely & behind the scenes sent a few messages. And if these people didn't heed his advice about how they posted here,, they would just be locked out.

hmmm, seems someone quite possibly has an alternative agenda for being here . . . . . jmo (note to self - add to ignore list) 👋

Thanks @hittman definitely an appropriate reminder.

My opinion if the thread is inherently political it should not be in the lounge.

I believe the policy used to be the lounge was kid friendly. Even though no kids probably hang out here.

Not a bad idea ….. may move this there and also merge in the other threads on the subject

It takes two to tango....if everybody just ignores the troll it will go away....eventually.

The problem is every race, creed, color, religion, ethnicity will have a few folks that want to jump up and make a fool out of themselves and cause their group to look bad and then there are some people who will see this and chose to paint the whole group that way. I could turn this around and show an example of white conservatives who did just this same thing but will leave that alone because it upsets a few here.

I'm not. I'm just offended by the insults. I'm black.
I have known good black people that I would go out of my way to help. I've also known black people that I would go out of my way to avoid contact with. I could make the same statements about white people. I do believe the young man in question made very poor choices & killed someone because he wasn't going to let anyone tell him what to do. He could have left & deescalated the situation at any time. He already had the knife in his hand. He told the victim, "Touch me & see what happens." Whether he meant to kill the victim or not he definitely meant to stab him. It was all unnecessary. He is a murderer. Using a knife against someone is lethal force. I have no respect for him or his family. I believe the family is at fault for how the boy turned out. That does not make me racist. It does make me a realist.
I suspect the boy did not have very good parents.

hey, RX-79G, what do you think of this man's accounting . . . . . 🤔
I can't listen to all of that. He's selling what all the people I don't like are selling: The idea that there are a handful of cultures, assigned by race and are responsible for programming people.

The truth is that there are tons of different views and cultures, all overlapping, and their racial component is as much enforced from the outside as from within. Native Americans were very different from each other, and many of them were neither conquered nor assimilated, so he's just full of it.

Anthony's mom is also full of it, but why shouldn't she be? That's the way parents are about their children. But the delusions she's referencing are a lot less crazy than believing there is a pizza parlor in DC for cannibal pedophile politicians. Yet reams of people believed that, and they didn't have an emotional connection like a parent does.

What does this have to do with my post?

For someone to make "their group look bad" to outsider observers, those outsiders will have to have decided that those people must be a group that are so degenerate that the behavior of any one of them speaks for all.
.
That's the fault of the observer, not the group that only exists in his mind.

I started to reply but I don't think you & I can communicate. Nevermind.
I'm not angry. I just didn't see what you were saying had to do with what I posted. You don't have to explain how you're not a racist.
