Where can I get a complete set of new screws for an old model flattop .44? I have one I'm trying to "dress up" a bit and this old sixgun has had someone taking it down with ill-fitting or poorly handled screwdrivers. The bluing is actually not bad, and a new set of screws would really spiff it up.

Also, how critical is the gate detent plunger? It appears this small part went missing somewhere along the way. The screw and spring are present, and everything works, but it seems the spring is serving as both the plunger and spring.

Thanks for your help.

Well, to find OM parts you'll have to hunt,, pray, and beg. :D

They have been drying up for a while.

But some old timers may have the parts you seek in their "spares" that they might part with.

And yes,, I'd get the gate detent plunger. Fix it correctly.

Maybe I'll dust off a box or two & see what may reside within.

A little online searching, and found the needed parts at Jack First. Unclear whether these are used parts, NOS, or reproductions, but they had everything I needed. Shipping charge was a little steep ($12) for a small handful of screws that could (and probably will be) mailed in a small envelope for about $4, but oh well. Beggars can't be choosy, as they say. I'll let you know how it turns out.

...and thats ONE reason why, I do not take the time and "try" to dig around in all my old parts drawers and tackle boxes full of old parts I ain't used in YEARS, let alone had any call for any, at the shows ,stopped taking them over 8 years ago........maybe a year ago someone from down south ( Kentucky) passing by ,stopped over on their way up north and we dug out the parts for them and put them in his gun........:unsure::(
