Ruger no.1 30-30 loads

Any one here shoot cast bullets in there no.1 30-30 ?
Looking for a powder /bullet combination please

I like mold 311299(bore riding nose) with a full compliment of 4064 or 3031. Full house loads with this combo can be very accurate and powerful. For sensible loads for targets I like about any 30 caliber mold I have(especially a Saeco 185gr) and around 15 gr 2400...it all depends what your ambitions are. I shoot Barry's 150 grain copper plated bullets with my 30-30 and you might find the loads applicable. I use 28.0 gr of H-4895 for about 2,000 fps, I think, or 12.0 gr of Universal and the same bullet for an even lighter load.

H-4895 loads can be reduced by 60% from Max according to Hodgdon.

I have a single shot 30-30 that I shoot cast and pointy bullets in. I don't have my data in front of me but I use a 165 gr RNFP with mild loads of 3031. Accuracy I've gotten so far is about 2 1/2"-3" @ 100 and I'm sure a little fiddling and a better shooter would improve that...

Rel 7 and 165 RCBS Silhouette bullet. 3031 and 150 cast RNFP....I think it is a Lyman mold...or Ideal. I have a load with a heavier bullet, but the brain is frozen.....can't remember and I loaded them less than a month ago....I will have to check...I have some 30 Herretts to load so will have the data in my hand.

#1 in 30-30? Nice.
In my 30-30 single shot Handi rifle I shoot a lot of plinkers. Mostly commercial cast .309" 115 LRN (.30 carbine bullet) over 6 grains of Trail Boss and alox on the bullets. Very accurate, quiet like a 22.

I have a box of 158 grain polymer coated bullets. I've been using H4198 for them, and shooting them with good results in a Marlin 336.
