HI all....Remington has seen fit not to give their 5 1/2 & 2 1/2 Primers a MAGNUM designation...they do not make Magnum Pistol Primers....yet they claim that their 5 1/2 primer is SPECIFICALLY made for the .357 Magnum with a thicker cup to handle the high pressures of the 357 Magnum.....

SOOOOOO....being that the 5 1/2 does not have a magnum designation....how would it work with the SLOW burning powders in 357..???? such as WW296...H110...Accurate #9...Vitavouri VN-110...4227...Ramshot Enforcer...Alliant 300-MP....Has anyone gotten good results with this 5 1/2 primer and the aforementioned slow powders in .357..????

Thanks...
Pete

If this is what Remington says about their primers, why do you not believe them? The only primers I use in .357 Mag and WC820 (sorta like H110) are the ones that say magnum on the box.

Thats what I use with a 180 grain WFNGC atop a stout charge of H110 in my GP100. Excellent accuracy and plenty of thump. I just got a present from Starline, 500 cases and a shipment from Rimrock bullets. I'll be doing some prep work tonight with the Rem 5 1/2.
