I never had a subscription, but I have owned multiple 2- and 3-digit subscriber RCC guns and they all came with the wood presentation cases. The only low number ones I still have are #24 and #30, both with the cases as well as the cardboard boxes. The earliest RCC cardboard boxes are different from the standard ones for higher number guns. Earliest label variant is on the left:
Be advised that the wood case itself was shipped in a thin cardboard or pasteboard box, so you might be looking for something like this, that doesn't really scream fancy:

thanks 103 is like the one on the left. I suspect either Rex King never gave dad the case or it is "missing" somewhere at his house. I keep hoping I stumble onto it
