Found a Single Six with a second cylinder in an auction , but in trying to find out how old it is I'm stumped .
The auction has 3 numbers .
62-18735
749D
62-18736
Im guessing one is the gun and the other is the cylinder , but can't find any numbers similar in searches .

Any help with dating and any info would be greatly appreciated !

On Rugers website you can find SN range per year.

Or on newer ones type in the SN and it will tell you.

Welcome to the Forum!

I can appreciate your confusion.

According to the RENE Guide,, (which is better than the Ruger look-up site,) the serial number 62-18735 & 62-18736 would be from a New Model, 1973 Super Single-Six. Two separate guns.
The extra cylinders are usually marked on the face of the cylinder with the last 3 digits of the matching gun's serial number. Usually these are etched in with an electric pencil type of engraving.

If the spare cylinder has 749D,, it's not original to the gun(s).
