MKIII Magazine Safety Removal

If you enjoy using your Mark III in tactical course timed shooting matches, I suggest making the modification to remove the magazine safety on your Mark III.

Here is some good video clips on how to do this simple modifications.

Great!!!!

I was wandering why my mags weren't falling out! I thought it was because the gun was brand new.

Will a MKII hammer work in a MKIII?

Thanks,
C.S.

You know, that is an excellent question. I was thinking about purchasing a Mark II style hammer, but I did the washer modification and I have had no issues.

Removing the magazine safety also allows Mark II magazines to work with no problem. The Mark III mags have that little cut out for the safety notch and with the safety gone I have used Mark II magazines with no problem.

You can get rid of the 'disconnect' by getting a MK II bushing and then you don't have to mess with the washers; all for about $8.00. As far as ejecting the magazine goes I just added a Volquartsen spring loaded magazine jector. That works just fine.
