Five years ago I decided to document a single-action build (that thread can be found here and on my forum). The intent was to photograph each step, explain the processes, and use personal favorites throughout. Those favorites included the .44 Special, an Old Model Blackhawk, and Cary Chapman grips.

Until now, the only thing missing was the leather. Sticking with the favorites theme, I called Mike Barranti. Being a .44 Special, it only seemed fitting to order his Elmer Keith No.5 (Lawrence 120 style with floral carving).

The engraved Hank Sloan he made for the Buffalo Seville brought that project to a close. Similarly, this No.5 officially rounds out my photo-essay 44. Oh, and one last touch. A custom gun and custom leather deserves custom brass.....

I'm in the queue for the same holster without the carving. This thread is not helping my patience much!
