There's already been an change on the SR22 Pistol

We've heard recently from two different sources that Ruger changed the slide markings on the SR22 pistol. They are saying that the first 10,000 or so of those produced are marked "SR22 PISTOL" but that it has been changed to say only "SR22".
Can anybody help out on when the change was made in these slide markings?

I heard the same thing couple weeks ago. The ones I have received all say SR22 pistol.

Several on display at SHOT, in the 19XXX range, all were marked SR22 PISTOL.

Sounds like they are also going to have to change the barrel screw as well.....

The one I've handled was in the 10000 range and was marked "pistol". I'll be sure to keep an eye out for them now.

I saw 360-14546 today. It has the "Pistol" on it.

I saw a serial number number of 16xxx is it said "SR22 Pistol"

will let you know if and when I see one without the word "pistol".

Do we know the serial number of that example? I am sure that Chad will be looking for this information to record it in his next RENE.

Thanks...should have reviewed the entire thread...it appears they made the switch prior to producing the reserved low serial numbers, usually the first 2,000 or there abouts...or the numbers seem to reveal that to this point.


I have a three on order, a single and a consecutive set that I should be picking up by the end of the month....my assumption is they will all just say SR22 on them.....we shall see... :lol:
