    Brimstone Trigger Job

I just wanted to pass along something that many of you already know, I'm sure, but I want to give credit where it is due. I recently sent my stock 10/22 trigger group to David at Brimstone Gunsmithing for their "Tier 3" trigger job. The Tier 3 is the least expensive of the three choices for...

    rear sight adjustment----how to?

I take it from your question about where to hold the sights that you are fairly new to handguns (sorry if I am assuming wrong). If that is the case, you should know that hitting the target Low/Left is a very common problem for new shooters (right-handed ones), and is due to problems with...

    70 vs 80 series 1911

"Series 70" and "Series 80" are terms that technically only should apply to 1911s of Colt manufacture, but are often used (when applied to other brands of 1911s) to denote the presence or absence of a Firing Pin Safety (FPS). Series 80-style guns have a FPS which locks the firing pin in place...

    Free-Floating A 10/22 Barrel

Thanks, Armed and BlkHawk. I was looking for some bedding info specific to the 10/22, so I'm looking forward to checking that link out. I had intended to bed it if possible, but there wouldn't have been much point if you couldn't float the barrel. I had heard of precautions against it, but had...

    Free-Floating A 10/22 Barrel

I just got my standard 10/22 Carbine mounted in a Revolution Explorer laminated stock (looks like the Target-model stock, but made for the standard barrel contour). It does not make use of the barrel band, but there is contact between the stock and barrel on the underside of the barrel. I was...

BRAND NEW 10/22 jambs at every third shot?

I'd be looking at the extractor and ejector for damage/malfunction. If it was working fine for 100 rds, then suddenly quit, something happened. It might just be a piece of debris that got into the wrong place. Take it apart and inspect those areas really well under magnification if necessary.

Put a set of calipers across them and you'll know the tale.

    Quick range report

Yup, I'm big on paper plates, too. There's always a stack sitting on top of the refrigerator, so I'm never out of targets. I stick a small piece of blue masking tape in the center for a bull, and have at it. Super cheap, too. Sorry it's not my Ruger, but...

    Removed

I ran 100 rds. of Remington's generic 230 gr. hollow-points (green/white box) followed by 50 rds. of Remington Golden Saber 230 gr. hollow-points in the same session without any cleaning in between, etc. I didn't have a single issue. Like dlidster, I was also using Wilson 47D mags. I'm waiting...

    BEST 10/22 Scope Mount?

Well, yesterday I fixed the situation of being without a 10/22. I picked up a black synthetic/matte black finished version yesterday. I'm not a fan of black guns, but this was the cheapest route for me to go where I would have a synthetic stock and matte black gun. I bought this configuration...
