As I've stated before, I purchased mine during the first week of May, 2011 for $645. In those earlier posts I also said that this LGS had sold more than 30 when I checked with him during the fall. At that time he said he had no trouble getting them.

I dropped by his shop today. He had three on hand. However... he said he was having to pay his dealer more to guarantee he could always have them. As a result he is now charging $750.

This guy is individualistic (as most gun shop owners seem to be) to say the least. But I don't believe he lies. His prices are usually fair, if not bottom dollar. (A Remington R1 right next to the SR1911 in the display case was priced at $609, which is in line with other stores locally.)

I'm glad I got mine when I did.

$799 at the end of April 2012. Very overrated piece of steel, thank you hickok45!

Wow - could you elaborate?
+1

I have to wonder why one would pay that much for something he didn't like. Or, did Hickock45 make him do it?

BTW, I love mine. And while I didn't pay $799, I do believe it's worth it. After almost 7,000 rounds I'd refuse more than that if offered. It's my Tuesday night USPSA Single Stack gun and a real keeper.

Got it for $700+$50 for taxes and fees. $750 OTD up here in Minnesota.

Bought a pair for $669 + taxes each on Monday. I bought the first one for my son for his birthday and for being a great help these months while I am down due to an accident. I am impressed with the quality, fit, and finish. Accuracy is equal to a Kimber that sells for a lot more. Triggers are decent out of the box and reliability at 100% so far.

I'll take the SR1911 over the Remington any day for less money.

550 from a friend who didn'tlike it as well asa his Kimber. Fool I said .

Depends which MIMber he had .... MIMber makes $600 guns and $1500 guns ....

There's a big difference between the various build levels of 1911's, so if he was used to a much higher end gun ... I can see where he's coming from. Either way ... you got a good gun at a great price .... most likely with just a few hundred rounds downrange. I'd take that deal in a minute.

I paid $650 OTD. My LGS always gives me the OTD price. It helps me know how much it really costs. Some of the shops like to quote a low price then add shopping and tax. This way, i can fairly compare 2 different shops.

I asked 4 different shops to find me one the day after they were announced. He called me about 2 weeks ago to ask if i still wanted it. Needless to say, I was there the next day. It of the 4 shops, 2 said $650, 1 quoted $640 and one said $625. All OTD prices. I told the other guys to keep looking. I figured they are enough people looking and i would just buy them and resell at my cost. Hopefully it would get me some good karma points.
