Mine does that - occasionally spits crud back at you. I don't get that from any of my other Rugers. I'd be interested to know if your problem goes away.

I was facing the same decision. I went with the SR22P. Reason: I liked my MkIII, I REALLY like my MkIIs (2), I wanted a 'trainer' for polymer 9mm pistol(s), the reviews on the SR22P were stellar, and it was cheaper. Both are made from polymer with SS barrels. I'm happy with my choice...
