I really like to look at the Muzzle Energy graphs on that site, as it gives you a better visual representation of how barrel length affects each caliber than the tables do. If you look at the 44 mag graph, for example, you'll see that the rate of increase in muzzle energy starts to slow down...

Mine's a 38 LCR...can't imagine shooting more than a 38+P thru something that small and light. But, I agree with how well they shoot, and for me, the smooth trigger pull helps!

I'd be surprised if you've had mixed reviews on the LCR trigger...it is one sweet stroke right out of the box. It is my current pocket carry. The hammerless SP101 is about the same size as the LCR, but heavier and more recoil-absorbing, so find somewhere to try them out and find which one...

Sure wish Ruger would come out with some concealable DA big-bore snubbies like that, like a 5-shooter in 45 Colt or 44 Special, something smaller and less expensive than the SR Alaskans... :D

If the wood was the worst part, you probably made out better than most in that you can fix it yourself without too much trouble. If you ever open up the action and expose the internals, though, you might find it a bit rough there, too, and want to do some sanding/polishing. The fine craftsmen...
